Delivery Frequently Asked Questions

 

Rugby Movers, L.L.C. provides professional delivery or pick up. Our service staff is ready to answer any of your questions or concerns from 10 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday, 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, and 12 pm to 5 pm on Sundays.

Please note: Rugby Movers, L.L.C. is not a part of Upscale Resale®. Therefore, Upscale Resale® employees are unable to answer questions about delivery or pick-up. Our . 'Freight Desk' is located in the front of Upscale Resale®


1. How is the price of my delivery or pick-up determined?


2. How are my items cared for when they are packed on the truck?

Q: How is the price of my delivery or pick-up determined?
A: There is a flat rate charged as a base fee for your first standard sized item. Depending on your location, the base rate is $85.00 or $105.00. Longer travel time is charged by the hour. Here are some examples of instances where there would be additional charges: additional items, flights of s tairs, long d istances to carry items, oversized or extra heavy items, long driving distances, assembly or disassembly, high liability items, etc.

Q: How are my items cared for when they are packed on the truck?
A: Typically items are blanket wrapped, boxed, or crated depending on the type of item being transported. We take great pride and care in the way that we handle your merchandise. During packing, loading, delivery and unloading we are responsible for your items. If damage does occur we repair that item with no expense to you. We are 100% insured.

Q: I scheduled a delivery or pick-up, but have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. Can I get a full refund?
A: Unfortunately, we would have to still charge the contracted fee. When the trucks are booked and a stop is cancelled, there is no way for us to make up the lost opportunity to provide the same service to other customers. It may be in your best interest to see if a friend or neighbor can be present at the stop to allow the movers access for the delivery or pick-up.

Q: I am undecided today; I am not sure if I want to book a delivery or pick-up. Can I decide later and book it over the phone?
A: Yes. However, you will need access to a fax machine. We need a completed and signed contract and payment of services before we can schedule any type of delivery or pick-up. Be sure to return the form and payment as quickly as possible since available spaces book up rapidly throughout our business day. We accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express. Payment can also be accepted over the phone.

Q: I have purchased some items at Upscale Resale®. How long can they remain in the store before delivery?
A: Items must be delivered within the first three days that Rugby Movers has available. If items are not scheduled for delivery within those available dates, then storage charges would be assessed by Upscale Resale® and must be paid before release of the merchandise. Please refer to your Upscale Resale® sales ticket for details about storage fees and other terms and conditions relating to your items.

Q: Is there alternative storage available?
A: Yes. Rugby Movers  provides storage at one of their facilities.  Feel free to talk with us about how much space you may require for your purchase.  Storage is not pro rated and is in addition to delivery fees.

Q: I had a delivery scheduled for one day but Rugby Movers, L.L.C. had to reschedule for a different day due to unforeseen circumstances. Am I entitled to a refund?
A: Unfortunately, no. Although it is rare, there are occasions when Rugby Movers, L.L.C. may need to reschedule your delivery or pick-up date. The fees assessed are for the work to be done. This work will still be done regardless of the date it occurs on. You will not, however, be charged by Upscale Resale® any additional storage charges if your stop is rescheduled by Rugby Movers, L.L.C.

Q: Why can't I have 'free' delivery like some other stores may offer from time to time?
A: There are several reasons. Rugby Movers, L.L.C. and Upscale Resale® are separate companies although we operate under the same roof. Delivery is offered as a convenience to customers. Secondly, there really is no such thing as 'free' delivery. Unlike Upscale Resale®, some furniture stores build in the cost of delivery into their retail prices. So even if you elect not to have a delivery, you are 'paying' for a portion of someone else's delivery. Here we are upfront about delivery costs.
